Cultural competencies and foreign language

VCU’s Division of Community Engagement and School of World Studies have designed courses to address communication and cultural competency needs. The courses are tailored to address profession-specific needs, i.e., Spanish for medical professionals, Spanish for law enforcement professionals and understanding the Spanish culture. Department of public administration

Dual enrollment programs

School of the Arts

Off-Campus Graduate Art offers Master of Art Education and Master of Interdisciplinary Studies graduate programs in Northern Virginia, Richmond, Virginia Beach and the surrounding areas. The courses in this highly successful off-campus graduate arts program need not be taken as part of either degree program. School of Education

For more than 20 years, SOE Associates (previously the Office of Continuing Education) has been an integral partner with the K-12 and adult learner sectors of education. The office serves approximately 1,500 students each semester throughout the commonwealth of Virginia. SOEA coordinates all off-campus courses for the School of Education. School of Engineering

The Commonwealth Graduate Engineering Program was developed to provide engineers and other qualified individuals with strong backgrounds in the sciences an opportunity to pursue a program in graduate studies leading to a master’s degree in engineering. School of Nursing

The R.N. to B.S.N. Weekend program is designed specifically for the registered nurse with a diploma or associate degree in nursing. The program offers flexible scheduling with classes being held on the weekend (Friday evening and Saturday). Classes meet five times a semester or approximately once a month. School of Social Work
