How do I register for a class?

  1. PLEASE NOTE: Grantwriting and Intro to Access are full. Look at the current schedule of classes and registration form [PDF] to view the dates and summary of courses offered. Classes are offered during the spring and fall semesters with a limited number of classes offered each summer. Class schedules are usually available a few weeks prior to the start of the semester.

All classes are two days long from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  1. Especially for Nonprofits no longer offers refunds unless a class is cancelled. If you are unable to attend a class, someone from your organization is welcome to take your seat if you notify the office at least 48 hours before the class starts. We do not offer credits in exchange for a refund.

  1. Mail the registration form with a check for $45 per class, payable to The Community Foundation, to Especially for Nonprofit Organizations, P.O. Box 843062, Richmond, VA 23284-3062. The check must be attached to the registration form for processing. We no longer accept faxed applications.

  2. Read about grading, attendance, and other student policies and procedures. [PDF]

  3. From time to time a class may be cancelled or there may be a location change. Please check your e-mail the night before a class to guarantee you have the most up to date information. The staff will do their best to contact you as soon as a change occurs.

E-mail Deborah Cuny to join the ENP listserv. The listserv will keep you updated on upcoming classes and other important program information.

Please e-mail the office if you would like someone from ENPO to attend a meeting, event or to visit your office.

What happens next?

RegistrationOnce we receive your registration information and payment, you will receive a registration confirmation by e-mail listing the classes for which you have been registered. Please note that no confirmation will be sent until payment is received. If you haven’t received a confirmation at least 48 hours before a class, please contact the office immediately for assistance.

Will I receive additional information before class?

Students who register at least one week prior to the start date will receive a reminder e-mail notice with directions and parking information. All e-mails will be sent from the address nonprofit@vcu.edu. Please bring your e-mail confirmation to class so that instructors can confirm your registration.

What if I register for a class that is full?

If you request a class that is full, we will contact you to see if you would like to 1) be placed on a waiting list for that course, 2) be registered for a different course or 3) have your payment refunded.

How much does each class cost?

Each two-day session costs only $45 per person. We’re able to keep our costs low thanks to the generous support of the program’s community partners.
